Precision Engineered Whey Protein – Review

Recently knocked out of our top 5 Protein powders Precision Engineered Whey Protein is still a good all round protein powder, it’s just in recent years, competitors have upped their game and have left precision engineered behind somewhat. This is an all rounder protein powder aimed at beginners just starting out that are seeking to heighten their daily protein intake in general. However, it is not a full whey isolate, more of a blend of isolate, concentrate and hydrolysed…which at this price, is ridiculously over priced. Produced by Holland & Barrett, it had gained traction when it first came out due to its unique protein composition that comes with additional nutritious ingredients.  However, over the years since it’s first production, we’ve seen the market explode with competition that offers the same composition (or better in many cases) without any of the flaws that come with precision engineered whey protein.

What we didn’t like

Well, for starters – this used to be pound for pound one of the cheapest protein powders on the market, but for some reason, they decided to nearly double the price a few years back. As mentioned earlier, competition is fierce in the game today, and put simply, there are much better and cheaper alternatives out there now. We’d have to say that’s a major tick in the negative column from us. For a list of the cheapest whey protein products, visit our page here cheapest whey protein. Another problem: The Taste. We’ve tried quite a few protein shakes in our time! and sadly this has to be one of the worst tasting we’ve come across. It’s not terrible. I don’t think I’ve ever had a truly sickening protein shake, it’s just really, really bland and the flavors are nothing like what they suggest.  Mixing it with other ingredients can help, but in this day and age, you shouldn’t have to resort to this. I for one like my protein shake straight up, purely mixed with water. I don’t want all the extra calories. And our final problem: It doesn’t mix well. Even when shaken heavily, we were disappointed to still find those thick gloopy masses throughout it. Honestly, if you are considering purchasing precision engineered whey protein, we urge you to look at Gold Standard Whey Protein Powder from Optimum Nutrition . Unlike, Precision engineered, the price has actually been reduced AND it’s a full powered 100% Whey Isolate – so you’re getting a lot more bang for your buck. Oh, and the chocolate flavor is delicious! Or if you’re looking for something cheaper, then Syntha 6 from BSN is currently the best priced protein shake on the market today. There are slightly cheaper powders, but they all come with big negative marks – whereas syntha 6 performs extemely well, even against more expensive brands. Precision Engineered Whey Protein – What we liked You can take this protein to supplement your meals at any time of the day in order to get additional first-class nutrients to your everyday calories intake. It is also preferred as it is straightforward to prepare using milk, water, yoghurt and juice and packed in a can to take later in the day. The whey protein powder comes in various formulas; you can go for strawberry, natural whey, vanilla, banana, chocolate and new cookies and cream. This protein powder is made to satisfy a beginner or a trainee as it comes with less carbs, low fats and naturally sprinkled amino acids. Adults can blend a single level scoop or half cup of water, milk, or juice. To overcome the problem with mixing, one can utilize an electric blender and once conflated, you can thin it out after 10 minutes or so. You can drink the mixture any time after having your normal meal as to supply your body with more high quality proteins and add on daily calories. Ensure that you weigh the extra calories offered by the mixing fluids like milk or yoghurt. Along the same lines, you should get sufficient hydration in the course of your training or afterwards. However, a minimum of six glasses of water should be taken daily if you are using Precision Engineered. Precision Engineered Whey Protein – Conclusion

Precision Engineered Whey Protein used to be a fantastic deal at the old price point. It never had enough to rival some of the better shakes in town, but that was ok as it was a nice cheap alternative. Unfortunately, that price increase (nearly double the price) has really killed off any positives it once had and now the negatives we used to look past, like the poor taste and mix-ability are that much more noticeable, especially now they are competing in a different price bracket against much better competition.

This product is the business! Holland barret don’t normally stock this in their stores so you should buy online. In-fact, they hardly have it in stock online so if you get a chance and it is in stock online, snap it up real quick and stock up!
